Electrification (with the Experts): Heat Pump Prep

About the event
Torontonians burn A LOT of gas to heat our homes. It's our city's #1 source of pollution — more than cars, more than power plants. Toronto's #1 polluter is gas furnaces.
Heat pumps are a big upgrade from furnaces - imagine consistent warmth in every room, lower energy use, and cooling in summer too. But getting there takes a bit more thought than a simple swap. Our speakers will walk you through the prep work to set your home up for heat pump success.
About the Speakers:
Michelle Hjort has coached hundreds of Torontonians through clean energy updates to their homes (she's especially good with heat pumps, solar, navigating rebates, and finding trustworthy contractors). Her company, Energy Neighbour, is a 2026 Clean50 Top Project Award winner. Kudos, Michelle! She will be our main expert speaker.
Michael Atalick coaches Torontonians who want to make their homes modern, comfortable, electric, and sustainable. He'll talk about the free Energy Coaching available to Toronto Hydro customers, and some common speedbumps he sees as people prepare to get their first heat pump.
The Toronto Home Energy Network builds home electrification community groups across Toronto. These groups provide personalized coaching, technology demonstrations, and make electrification what it should be: a smooth, stress-free way to improve your home's comfort and sustainability.
