Eve Wyatt
Chair
Eve is a civil engineer with extensive experience in leadership, project management, policy development, and application of technology, driven by a commitment to addressing climate change. During her career in senior management at GO Transit/Metrolinx, she focused on enhancing GO’s appeal as an alternative to driving through a plan for ambitious service expansions, improved customer information, and region-wide fare integration.
After retirement, she spearheaded the Ontario Clean Air Alliance campaign, obtaining 35 municipal resolutions to phase out gas-powered electricity generation in Ontario.

With her leadership, the Pocket Change retrofit team demonstrated the potential of a community-based approach to accelerate home carbon emissions reductions.
Currently, she chairs the Board of Toronto Home Energy Network to replicate this success in communities across Toronto.

In 2019, Eve became an early adopter of a heat pump, immediately reducing the carbon emissions from her home by 65%.

Paul Dowsett
Vice-Chair
Principal architect at Sustainable, Paul has been central to the mainstreaming of sustainable architecture in Canada. His work consistently demonstrates the value of building-science-led design solutions for new construction and retrofits. He has advised government and stakeholders on climate retrofits in Canada and is a co-founder of the Ontario Net Zero Architect's Network, helping other architects to understand the role that they can play in helping homeowners to eliminate their home’s carbon emissions.

Paul's own home was one of the first retrofits in The Pocket, reducing its energy use to 48% less than that required for a typical Canadian home, achieving net-positive-cost-of-energy. His firm later retrofitted a similar home, achieving the first LEED For Homes Platinum certification for a residential renovation in Canada with an 83% reduction in energy use. Paul has recently completely electrified his home by upgrading to a cold climate air source heat pump and induction cooktop - he is proud to be "natural" gas free!

Lori Zucchiatti O'Neill
Member-at-Large
Retirement from a rewarding full-time position in the mental health sector has allowed Lori to devote more time to another one of her passions – our environment. She combines a personal commitment to continually reducing her own environmental footprint with a desire to motivate others to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and take other steps to protect our planet.

Jake Miller
Executive Director
Jake has spent nearly a decade helping people understand climate change and make pragmatic efforts in their lives to reverse it. His work has involved data-driven models and projections paired with nuanced and empathetic conversations. For a number of years, he has championed the adoption of electric heat pumps as the least disruptive, most impactful climate action available to thousands across Toronto.

Before joining Toronto Home Energy Network, he was the Director of Project Neutral, where he oversaw the redeployment of their carbon footprint calculator and the development of a diversity of climate education programs, most notably Talk Climate to Me, a climate course for women and allies. Jake has led committed teams of staff, students and volunteers to make a difference in their community.

John Weston
Community Partnership and Volunteer Engagement Coordinator
John heads up THE Network's focus on community partnership and volunteer coordination. Pulling on 5 years' experience in direct grassroots organizing on climate and housing issues at all three levels of government, John believes strongly in the power of boosting and building decentralized organizing confidence and skills.

John believes strongly that Torontonians know their own communities best! Whether it's backend organizing, backyard socials, or public events, he aims to connect practical knowledge, organizing best practices, and tips across the Network's neighbourhood partners while promoting good old-fashioned community engagement, resilience and fun!
John has worked with non-profits and advocacy campaigns on direct public contact, making climate action easy and actionable, and recording the impact of grassroots work. Having spent time outside of Toronto in Guelph, Kitchener-Waterloo and Fredericton, he's excited to help put the electrify in electrification for Toronto homes.

Nathan Postma
Homeowner Journey Coordinator
Nathan backs up THE Network’s grassroots organizing with professional communications and marketing experience — he LOVES organizing and promoting community events. As an Outreach Coordinator with Cycle Toronto, he saw how the connections built at these events snowball into movements that physically and culturally transform cities.

His goal is to demystify heat pumps with accessible information delivered at the right moment. Writing blogs, articles, and Guidebooks is a big part of this, but fitting these resources into a larger “journey” away from fossil fuel use in homes is the larger purpose of his role.
Nathan has worked with small nonprofits on numerous environmental issues, including decarbonizing transportation, local food systems, and nature conservation. His most fun professional period was leading bike tours through downtown Toronto while also managing a rooftop garden. He joked that although he'd just graduated, he was already retired....all he did was garden and cycle all day!
Our Funders
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to The Atmospheric Fund (TAF) and Toronto Hydro for their invaluable support of our mission. As leaders in fostering sustainability and energy efficiency, TAF and Toronto Hydro are natural partners for our work.
TAF’s commitment to innovative climate solutions and community engagement aligns perfectly with our vision of empowering neighbourhoods to retrofit their homes for a greener future. Similarly, Toronto Hydro’s expertise in energy management and dedication to promoting clean energy make them an essential ally as we guide residents through the retrofitting process.
Together, we are working to create healthier, more sustainable communities across Toronto, and we couldn’t be more thankful for their collaboration.
