No/low cost—they'll help you find the best heat pump for your home. They work mostly through calls and email. They also check contractors' past work and recommend trusted ones from their network. Sometimes, their recommended contractor will pay the Retrofit Advisor a fee* if you hire them for your project.
*This fee is usually not passed on to you.

They offer products like Heat Pump Sizing, Energy Assessments, and Electrification Roadmaps. They'll visit your house and take measurements. They also have a network of contractors that they've worked with in the past. They're happy to make referrals.
You will pay something upfront (~$400-$600). This cost is often made up — they're excellent at helping you avoid costly mid-project surprises.
💡You can mix & match! Debbie got help on her solar project from Energy Neighbour, then hired Goldfinch to do an Energy Assessment for her heat pump (now her multi-generational home is fully electric!).
