We're always looking for volunteers. Your time is valuable — here's what we do in a nutshell:
We are fighting climate change. We are pushing a simple solution at a scale that matters: to help get a heat pump in every Toronto home.
Torontonians burn A LOT of natural gas to heat our homes. Gas furnaces and boilers are our biggest source of pollution (and our biggest opportunity). Enter the heat pump. They make furnaces and boilers obsolete. Actually, heat pumps are the right decision even without the climate. They're modern, safe, and belong in every home.
Switching every Toronto home to heat pumps will eliminate 1.75 megatonnes of carbon. Not once, but forever. This is because heat pumps run on electricity, which Ontario produces with mostly clean sources. Our electrical grid will keep getting greener, but gas will always be a polluting fossil fuel. Every home that moves off of gas is a win for today and the future.
We use a simple but underestimated path to this future. We get people who already have heat pumps to share their experiences and help their friends and neighbours get their own. Then we repeat this neighbour-to-neighbour sharing until the whole city is on board.

Join Our Board
THE Network uses an operational board model, meaning our board members are actively involved in the daily affairs of the organization. Joining our board means you’ll play a vital role in strengthening THE Network. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment that celebrates diverse perspectives.

Joining the Toronto Home Energy Network as a staff member offers a chance to work directly with communities in our network. Your expertise will help build resources and develop programs that will help homeowners update their homes and build stronger, more connected communities.
