Excitement about solar has been around for decades. The first systems were being advertised in 1954! Solar panels have come a long way since then—their performance keeps going up, while prices keep going down. But unclear payback periods and technical challenges can make solar feel out of reach.
In this webinar, Chris Caners from TAF will introduce you to the Home Solar Accelerator, a free, education-first service that provides homeowners with one-on-one support from independent advisors to install solar systems and batteries.
Michelle Hjort from Energy Neighbour will discuss how solar complements your home electrification project, how to connect with trustworthy installers, review the incentives for solar and battery installations, and provide clarity on costs and payback periods.

Chris Caners is the Director of Clean Electrification at The Atmospheric Fund. Before that, Chris was the General Manager of SolarShare, a renewable energy co-operative that has raised more than $90 million in community financing for solar projects. It’s safe to say he lives and breathes solar! He’ll explain how TAF’s new Home Solar Accelerator program can help you get the solar panels you’ve been dreaming about.
Michelle Hjort has coached hundreds of Torontonians through clean energy upgrades — she's a go-to person on solar, incentives, and finding contractors you can trust. Her company, Energy Neighbour, is a 2026 Clean50 Top Project Award winner. Kudos, Michelle! She’ll point out common installation speed bumps she’s seen in the field, project cost ranges, and money-back incentives.
