Way too often, we hear about heat pump installers putting in a new thermostat, then not teaching the homeowner how to use it.
Knowing how your thermostat works is really important if you have a hybrid system (that’s a heat pump with a gas furnace or boiler backup) because your thermostat decides when to switch between the two systems.

Note: An all-electric (ie: non-hybrid) system does not need a fancy, multi-setting, programmable thermostat. With the Set It And Forget It philosophy, nothing needs to be programmed!
